
Fabio Ciofini studied organ, piano and fortepiano at the Conservatory of Perugia with W. Van de Pol, M.F. Spaventi and C. Veneri; with A. Fedi he studied harpsichord at the School of Music in Fiesole. He continued his organ studies at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam with J. Van Oortmerssen and obtained, in 1999, the “Post-Graduate” in Early Music.
In 1995 he was appointed “Organist titulaire” in Collescipoli on the historical baroque organ W. Hermans (1678).
His interpretation of XVI-XVIII centuries music is spreadly appreciated. As a soloist he appears regularly in Italy, Europe (Holland, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Hungary, France, England, Norway, Finland, Sweden) and U.S.A. He also plays in duo with the baroque violinst Enrico Gatti and as continuo-player of the “Ensemble Aurora”. He gives number of lectures and masterclass (Javea, Spain – International Baroque Music Festival, California State University of Chico and Washington State University of Seattle – organ master classes, Oundle International Festival, England - organ master classes). He records with “Bottega Discantica” - Milan and Loft Recordings – Seattle.
Fabio Ciofini is also active as director. He is founder and conductor of the “Accademia Hermans” and of the Schola Cantorum of St. Scolastica at the Monastery of Saint Benedict, Norcia. He is in charge as Art Director of the Hermans Festival and Festival Villa Solomei.
He teaches at the Terni’s Conservatory “G. Briccialdi”.

Born in 1955 in Perugia, Italy, Enrico Gatti has dedicated himself to the study of XVII and XVIII century repertoire. A pupil of Chiara Banchini, he obtained the diploma in baroque violin at The Conservatory of Music in Geneva, Switzerland; he finished his studies under the guidance of Sigiswald Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands.
He has concertized extensively in Europe, Canada, America, Russia, Japan and Australia, performing with, among others, La Petite Bande, Ensemble 415, Concerto Palatino, Hesperion XX, La Real Cámara, as leader of Les Arts Florissants, Les Talens Lyriques, The Taverner Players, The King’s Consort, as well as with directors such as Gustav Leonhardt and Ton Koopman. He directs the Ensemble Aurora, which he founded in Italy in 1986. He has recorded for Harmonia Mundi (France and Germany), Accent and Ricercar (Belgium), Fonit Cetra, Tactus and Symphonia (Italy), Arcana and Astrée (France), Glossa (Spain) as well as recording for the Italian, French, Swiss, Spanish, Dutch, Belgian, German, Swedish, Finnish, Russian Canadian and American radio networks. He was assigned the first prize “Antonio Vivaldi” in 1993 and 1998 and several times the “Diapason d’or.
In the last few years ,Enrico Gatti has developed a distinguished teaching career as professor of baroque violin at The Conservatory of Music in Toulouse, France, the Conservatory of Geneva, the Schola Cantorum of Basel, Switzerland and the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan. He teaches presently at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and at the Conservatorio di Piacenza (Italy). He has also taught at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, Italy, as well as giving master classes in Italy, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Canada, U.S.A. and Japan.
Enrico Gatti was a member of the jury for the international early music competitions at Bruges (1993), Brescia (1995), Rovereto (1997 & 1998) and “Symphonia en Perigord” (1998). From 1997 to 2005 he has been artistic director of the Urbino Early Music Course.
